As part of our German language scholarship program, the Lancaster Liederkranz is offering to pay travel and
attendance
fees, up to $3,000 for a qualified child or grandchild of a Liederkranz member,
(selected by the scholarship committee) to the Concordia Language
Village German Summer Camp. The program offers 1, 2, or 4 week sessions, and is affiliated with Concordia College. The attending child is required to give a brief review of his/her experience at a monthly membership meeting upon return.

nearly 50 years, Concordia Language Villages, in the beautiful North
Woods of Minnesota has been boldly and optimistically pursuing a vision
of peace and understanding by introducing learners to the languages and

Fest Food Service Assistant Needed: We are in need of a volunteer to assist Susan Williams in the food service area of our annual fests. If you are interested or to learn more about this volunteer work, please contact fest committee chair, Paul Stanavage or by phone: 717-656-0281.
Front Door Greeter Volunteers Needed Thursday, Friday, & First Tuesday evening front door
greeter volunteers are needed. For their work, door volunteers receive
complimentary dinner and beverage. Couples are welcome!
NOTICE - We are also looking for a
volunteer to manage our volunteer front door greeters. This work requires you to
communicate with and manage their schedule. If

2012 Club Membership Renewals are Due! Club membership runs form Jan. 1 to Dec. 31. Beginning in Nov., renewals paid at the bar by Dec. 31 receive a complimentary drink chip. The courtesy of a grace period to renew is extended until Feb. 29.
Memberships not renewed by Feb. 29 are suspended and keys made inactive. Beginning March 1, admittance to the club will require a $35 reactivation fee in addition to dues fee.

Lancaster Liederkranz to be selected: We are accepting applications for 2012-2013
Miss Lancaster Liederkranz who will in turn compete for 2012/2013 Miss
German-America of Philadelphia.
Applications
must be received by April 1. Selection
will be announced at Maitanz, Saturday, May 12.

We have been fortunate to have Miss Lancaster Liederkranz selected as Miss
German-America of Philadelphia, Kornflower Queen in recent years. Our most recent Miss Lancaster Liederkranz is

Preliminary qualifications:
Candidate must be between the ages of 18-26, female, unmarried, and have no
dependents. These qualifications are in accordance with the Steuben
Committee who will choose the next Kornflower Queen in Philadelphia.

The
Liederkranz completed the acquisition of the historic Garber-Honberger
house across South Chiques Road
from the club Nov. 2011.
As part of the
financing for the purchase of this property, the Club has instituted a pledge
drive by which members and interested friends can help offset the cost of the
acquisition through monthly, quarterly, annual, or one-time contributions to

Dance Lessons Offered: Would
you like to take to the dance floor at our fests or club dances but you're not sure about your
dancing
skills? Club members, Linda and Elvin Heck offer Polka and Waltz
lessons for any members interested in learning the basics. As service
