Men singing traditional, fun songs can be found in the Gasthaus, Rathskeller, and at fests throughout Germany. They can also be found at the Liederkranz! That's the Hobby Chor. An all-male chorus formed in 1978. They work to preserve German culture, music and language, and to foster a fun-loving spirit. All men are welcome. If you think you can't sing, don't worry, we'll teach you. And you're guaranteed to have a good time!
Glueck auf Glueck auf - In the early days of the pandemic, Stefan Klosowski's cousin, Hans-Georg of Annaberg-Buchholz Germany near the Czech border, sent the video link below of the local fire company playing a trumpet song of good luck and happiness, “Glueck auf Glueck auf,” on ladder truck in the marketplace.
They played every Sunday during the crisis to bring hope and good health wishes. The firemen made shopping trips for the elderly and the women made face masks for local hospitals.
POW Remembrance Table Each year the Hobby Chor sponsors the club's Military Ball which is held in conjunction with Veterans Day. At the 2019 event, the Hobby Chor gave a presentation on the POW Remembrance Table. Click right to see this moving tribute to our missing, but never forgotten Prisoners of War.
