The Lancaster Liederkranz welcomes men and women of goodwill, who have attained the age of twenty-one years, and who wish to belong to a club that is a dynamic family organization dedicated to perpetuating and amplifying the founders' original purpose of promoting German culture through song, dance, language, art, and international exchange.
We welcome your application for membership if you can subscribe to Article 1 Section 1 of the Lancaster Liederkranz Constitution, which reads:
In the year 1880, on the fourth day of July, in the city of Lancaster, a group of men of German origin met and organized a singing society to be henceforth known as “The Liederkranz”. The object of this organization was, to meet fraternally, sing and preserve native songs and music, as well as perpetuate the social customs of the Fatherland.
We ask that applicants familiarize themselves with our House Rules and Constitution & By-Laws:
You may stop by the Club to learn more about us. All guests should be accompanied by a member and be signed in our guest book. If you arrive unaccompanied, please make your guest status known to the door tender and/or bartender on duty. We allow 3 (three) guest visits within the calendar year, after which guests are expected to apply for membership. Please note: Non members may not purchase alcoholic beverages.
You may pick up a Membership Application at the Club or click on the PDF version below to be completed and mailed to the Club. Appropriate fees ($50 Initiation fee per application and $50 per person dues fee), at least one (1) sponsor, and orientation are required.
The process generally takes 2 to 3 months, depending on receipt of application.
Steps in the Membership Process
Applicants will receive a letter with information and dates outlining the next steps in the process.
All applicants are required to attend an orientation class prior to vote into membership.
Applicant's name will be read at a monthly membership meeting. The applicant does not attend this meeting.
Applicants are required to attend the following membership meeting where they are voted into membership. Note: Applicants are given a 3-month window to attend a meeting for vote after their name has been read.
Orientation Class Details Orientation classes are held on the first and third Monday of each month, beginning at 7:00 p.m. If the scheduled date falls on a holiday, the class will not be held. Attendance at the orientation class is required prior to induction into membership.

NOTE: - Annual dues are not pro-rated. We ask that all memberships be renewed by December 31. - We permit a two-month grace period until end of February, after which we apply a late fee of $35/pp until end of calendar year. - It is the member's responsibility to renew each year. We do not send invoices or reminders.* - Beginning in November, look for renewal forms and information on our website, in emails, and at the Clubhouse. *Note: Beginning in June and through the end of the calendar year, we give new members vouchers to help offset their upcoming membership renewal fee.

Note:Renewal is for current members. If you are not currently a member, new member info and an application are available to the left.
2026 Membership Renewal:
Note: Renewal must be made by the end of Feb. Beginning Mar 1, a $35/pp late fee will be applied.The late fee to activate renewals is applicable through the end of 2026. After which, memberships not renewed will be dropped and reapplication and vote will be required to continue membership.
